How to manually upload a theme or plugin.

Sometimes you can download themes or plugins from external sources other than WordPress library. If you’re confused or struggling about uploading it manually, I’ll show you how to do it in 3 simple steps.

How to scan WordPress plugin/theme ?

First, you need to make sure it has no virus or malware before you upload a theme or plugin. You can do this by using online multi antivirus and malware checker. It’s a free tool anyone can use it without registration or paying fees.

First, you need to go to this link

Then drag and drop your theme/plugin or you can click on “Choose file” button.

Once you’ve checked the file and it’s clean, It’s time to upload it!

Upload a plugin

Go to your blog dashboard, from the left side navigation, Plugins > Add New.

1. Upload your plugin

Click “Upload Plugins” top left of the screen.

Click “Choose File”

2. Install your plugin

Click “Install Now”

3. Activate your plugin

Now your plugin is installed and activated.

Upload a theme

It’s the same as plugin, the only difference is you need to click on Appearance > Themes > Add New.

1. Upload your theme

Click “Upload Theme”

Choose your file by clicking “Choose File”

2. Install your theme

Click “Install” to install your desired theme

3. Activate your theme

Now you need to activate it, Click “Active”

Enjoy your new plugin/theme, don’t forget to scan it beforehand and always back up your Blog in case you’re not sure about this plugin or theme.
